Queen Norvella Smith, is a strong woman of God, anointed to serve the Kingdom and is recognized as a “polished professional” and awarded Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), a superior level of achievement in both communication and leadership with Toastmasters International. Queen Norvella is no stranger to the stage and has captivated and motivated audiences with her charismatic inspiring style and is the author of The Capacity To Believe_Know Your Value, the book that is spreading inspiration across the nation. Along with being a mother, grandmother and life partner, Queen Norvella is very active in her community and has a philanthropic drive for helping others and a purposeful passion for communication beyond the workplace. Queen Norvella started captivating audiences with online motivational quotes. Once her quotes and motivations started being requested daily by friends and family, Queen Norvella began to pursue her passion for motivational speaking and became President and Founder of Queen Speaks Life starting a saturday speaking class at her church in Frisco, Texas that is now a thriving Toastmaster Club, to help others improve in their presentation and public speaking skills, whether in church, home or business called “Speak UP”. Queen Norvella has engaged audiences on topics from getting motivated, setting goals, interviewing skills, developing and improving your spiritual walk, inspiring young and old to be confident and to look within themselves to find their treasure.
In 2002, a Fortune 500 company with headquarters in Round Rock, Texas voted Norvella Smith their “Woman of Distinction.” Queen Norvella is an award winning talent winning several speech contests and has received numerous awards and recognitions in the area of public speaking, including “Speaker of the Year in 2003” in San Bernardino, California and won First Place for International Speech with Toastmasters International in 2015 and the First Place Title for Public Speaking at the Club, Area, and Division levels in 2017. Queen Norvella is currently a member of the American General Toastmasters Club in Houston, Texas, a Founding Officer and member of the “Speak UP” Brinker Toastmasters Club in Dallas, Texas and the PepsiCo Presenters in Plano, Texas.
She has served in leadership roles such as Chair of Big Brother/Big Sisters of North Texas, Area Governor, Vice President of Public Relations and Club President of the Toastmasters Club. Queen Norvella is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and serves as the Southwest Cluster Coordinator of Area One for Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. and was sworn in as the President of Top Ladies of Distinction Houston Chapter in 2023.
Queen Norvella is successful because she puts God first, surrounds herself with positive people, and always has a positive outlook. She considers herself as confident, outgoing, and very determined to be successful in spite of challenges. Queen Norvella holds both a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration.
